Performa 268/960 Now Available
The much-anticipated new Performa™ ProSoft 268/960 softener control valve is now available. “We’ve taken the two premier Autotrol-brand products, and combined them into a phenomenal new control valve combination,” stated Rick Jerzak, National Sales Manager for Osmonics Household Water Group. “The Performa ProSoft 960 extends the Autotrol product line into new territory, providing our customers with a new premium product to combine into high-end water conditioner systems.”

The Autotrol Performa valve was originally introduced over a year ago, teamed up with our reliable 400 series controls. The valve “performed” unbelievably in its first year of service. Taking the market by storm, the demand for the Performa valve was off the charts. The Performa valve has been used in thousands of large Residential and Light Commercial installations around the world, far exceeding everyone’s expectations.

The Autotrol 960 controls were introduced nearly eight years ago and have done nothing short of impress everyone who uses them. “Our 960 series controllers were accepted slowly by the market,” said Jerzak, “but as people began to realize the true power of these controls, and how truly easy they are to program, they are sold for life.” The 960 series control features fully programmable cycle times, which allows the installer to adjust the control and regeneration cycle to the exact water needs. This helps increase the performance of the conditioner, as well as saves water, salt and the home owner’s money.

The combination of the Performa valve with the 960 ProSoft control really sets new standards in the market. This control valve combination gives water treatment professionals a premium product to sell against the low-cost resellers and big-box retailers. Osmonics Household Water Group is also committed to providing our customers with value-added features beyond our control valves as well. There is a complete line of consumer literature, manuals and marketing materials that give our customers the ability to really sell these products.

As the residential market demands larger, and better performing water treatment systems, the Performa ProSoft 960 Pro Series will be the answer. The 25 GPM service flow rate, of the valve, is more than adequate for those larger residential installations. The Performa will also tackle most of those light-Commercial applications as well, but it doesn’t cost like it’s a commercial control valve!

The Performa ProSoft 960 will backwash up to a 14-inch tank easily, and there are backwash filter configurations to match. The outstanding 20 GPM backwash rate, for filters, really allows for application flexibility as well. An additional “D” injector is available
with the Performa 960 ProSoft that will allow the system to regenerate the larger tank sizes.

The Performa 960 ProSoft is only one part of the extensive Performa product line. In addition, Osmonics is offering a Performa 3-cycle backwash filter with the 940F timer control, an electronic demand 3-cycle backwash filter, and a 5-cycle iron filter, in addition to the Performa 400 Series control series. In the third quarter of this year, Osmonics will also introduce the supercharged Performa Cv™— a high-performance Commercial line of controls with backwash rates up to 25GPM, that will backwash up to a 24-inch tank! And if that wasn’t enough, there will also be a duplex Performa unit available before the end of the year too!

While that’s all for now—there will be much more information to come on the Performa 960 ProSoft control valve, as well as the rest of the exciting new Performa line.

Upcoming Regional Dealer Training Sessions- Fall 2001
This Fall, Osmonics will be going on tour with a set of regional dealer training seminars throughout the country. They will begin around Labor Day this year, and will cover most of the major markets in the USA. Much more information will follow about these seminars!

Product Improvement
1265 and 256 Bypass Valve Seal Improvement
Beginning the week of June 11, 2001, the Autotrol brand 1265 and 256 bypass valve will include gaskets (PN 1030541) instead of the standard O-rings that Osmonics previously provided. The gaskets provide a larger surface to help the plumbing to seal better, stopping leaks in installations where the plumbing may not align perfectly. The new gaskets are a part of our commitment to continuous product improvement for our customers.

New Brine Control Improvement
On June 11, 2001, Osmonics incorporated an improved 1-19 pound brine control into its Autotrol control valves. The operation of the brine control remains unchanged, however the control now meets worldwide safety standards such as NSF and WRc. This new improved component is now gray in color for easy identification, and will completely replace the older black version of the brine control. There is no need to replace the brine control in already-installed systems.
